Blurb Pulls Through for Christmas Rush

I meant to blog about this during Christmas week, but things were so hectic that I just couldn’t get around to doing it. For the last three years now, I’ve been making photo books from Blurb for our kids to give as Christmas gifts to grandparents and great grandparents. It’s an amazingly great gift because for one, you’re updating any far away grandparents on your kids’ progress throughout the past year, giving a very personalized gift, and also capturing those memories for yourself.

Move-in Residuals

When it comes to organization, I’m a terrible mess.

We moved into this house in October 2010 and now with 2012 just around the corner, I’ve started to realize that there are a lot of things that I just never did get around to doing. Not the big things like finishing painting the inside, which I’ve been stalling on for over a year, but the little things like the hall closet having a box of trash bags shoved in next to the sheets because I hadn’t yet figured out where I was going to put it.

Garden Log: Hardy Kiwi Started

Have you ever heard of the ‘hardy kiwi’? They’re sometimes called ‘kiwi berries’. It’s a plant native to China, Korea, and Siberia and is essentially a green grape that looks like a kiwi inside.

Is that not like one of the coolest fruits you’ve ever heard of? I LOVE kiwis, but I can’t stand those times when I don’t cut enough flesh off and I’m left with needles poking my tongue. That’s seriously no fun at all.

Monopoly Junior Great for Young Kids

Monopoly JuniorA couple months back my kids really got into board games, insisting, no matter what I said about the age range, that they wanted to play the Game of Life, which sat unopened in our closet from a long ago Black Friday sale until they got old enough to play. We gave it a try and surprisingly enough, they loved it. Since the only other games we own are Settlers of Catan (which they’d already played banker for several times) and my special The Lord of the Rings Trilogy Monopoly, naturally they wanted to play Monopoly.
